After much deliberation I’ve decided to start a clean new blog, using Octopress. This wraps Jekyll, a Ruby based blogging framework that uses markdown for entries. The idea is that I want to do more blogging with code, and this is a good platform for this.
The system also supports mobile viewing well, dynamically adapting to orientation.
I am planning to migrate my old MovableType blog to a static site, and start a new blog from scratch. Basically, I don’t have the energy to migrate the content and manage the old linked content. Comments were never properly enabled, so treating it as a static site for now should preserve the URIs indexed around the place.
